Replacing a Problematic System

We were tasked by a client at a material processing plant to replace a problematic and faulty conveyor system.

Site Visit

When we visited the site at the start of the project, we identified that one of the reasons for the inefficient operation of the existing conveyor was due to it being a swan neck conveyor. The high tensions applied during start up with a fixed tension tail unit often cause the belt to break free from the head concave guide rolls. There were further issues with this conveyor utilising a cleated belt. These are extremely difficult to clean, and result in material spillage on the return belt. This necessitates weekly cleanouts.

Decommission of Existing System

Our client asked us, as the principal contractor, to decommission all existing equipment and install and commission the new system within one week.
